Max Ceaser, Executive Chef

Born in Detroit and raised in the kitchen, Chef Max Ceaser began his career almost 25 years ago as a line cook while attending the University of Arkansas where he studied Communications and Music. He split time in Northwest Arkansas cutting his teeth in the steakhouse industry and performing live music, having opened for such national touring acts as the Eli Young Band and the Gin Blossoms. He went on to be named General Manager of the Year in casual dining and later opened Cheers in the historic Old Post Office building in the Fayetteville town square as the Executive Chef while volunteering his time teaching children's cooking classes at a local non-profit center. Chef Max opened and operated Sullivan's Steakhouse in Little Rock, AR for the last 2 years as the General Manager to great success but has now returned home to both the city of Detroit and the heart of the restaurant, The Kitchen. He brings the flavor of the deep south combined with formal culinary training and operates his business with a firm stance on excellence and a kind and compassionate approach with his team. In his spare time, you can find Chef Max playing piano, working on his 1978 International Scout, and enjoying the downtown lifestyle. With unbridled excitement and an unparalleled passion for exceptional food and high-end craft cocktails, Chef Max brings the energy to the opening of Sullivan's Steakhouse in the Westin Book Cadillac to treat guests like family with southern hospitality and deliver the best food in the city!
